Feeling Overwhelmed? START HERE
Overwhelm isn’t just about having too much to do.
It’s the combination of:
racing thoughts
internal pressure
and a sense of urgency that won’t let you slow down
And for many professionals, this is the exact moment where consistency with health begins to break down.
Not because you don’t care.
But because your system is overloaded.
What Most People Miss
Overwhelm doesn’t start with your schedule.
It starts with what you’re believing in the moment:
“I don’t have enough time”
“I need to get this right”
“I can’t slow down right now”
These thoughts create urgency in your body.
And urgency makes everything feel harder.
A Simple Shift
Recently, I was reminded of this in the most unexpected way.
After joining a new gym, my partner and I attended an orientation thinking we didn’t need it.
What we realized instead was that we had drifted away from the basics.
Small adjustments made everything feel more stable.
Overwhelm works the same way.
It’s often a sign that you need to return to the basics, not push harder.
Where to Start
Instead of trying to fix everything, begin here:
Pause
Interrupt the urgency, even for 30 seconds.
Get curious
Notice what you’re telling yourself. Is it true, or is it pressure?
Choose support
Shift into a belief that helps you feel more grounded.
You don’t need to clear the overwhelm all at once.
You just need enough space to feel steady again.
